UPDATE -- Police have identified the drowning victim as 11 month old Waylen Harris.
The child was found unresponsive in the family's front yard swale with his 2-year-old sibling nearby. Police say no foul-play is expected but the major crime units will continue to investigate. No further information will be available until the autopsy is concluded.
CHARLOTTE COUNTY, Fla -- The Charlotte County Sheriff's Office is investigating the drowning of a child.
They responded to the scene Thursday night on Loveland Boulevard in Port Charlotte.
Police say the child was transported to a local hospital and was later pronounced dead.
