Charges filed after SWAT standoff in Naples

COLLIER COUNTY, Fla. -- A North Naples man is now facing charges in connection with a domestic disturbance that led to a SWAT stand-off Monday.

The suspect in this case, James Lawson, remains in jail, charged with shooting inside a house.

It all happened at a home on Cypress Hollow Way.  That’s in the Tall Pines Community just west of Barron Collier High School.

Deputies say Lawson's roommate called for help and ran to a neighbor's house when he started breaking things, reportedly out of anger over a missing dog. As she was leaving he reportedly fired several shots, but never actually threatened her with the gun.

She described the ordeal to a 911 dispatcher.

Caller: “Oh my god!"
Dispatcher: "What's going on right now, ma'am?"
Caller: "Please, please! I just can't believe it! I mean everything is getting broken!"
Dispatcher: "Okay, who's doing that, ma'am?...Who's doing all this?"
Caller: "James Lawson."

Deputies and a SWAT team quickly rushed to the home, and after several minutes they finally convinced Lawson to come outside, where he was arrested.
