Three men shot after gunfire erupts at a Fort Myers restaurant during the lunch rush Thursday.
"Who is the next person that got shot, another young person? it's insane," said Larry Aguilar.
Residents expressed frustration to the gun violence after bullets rung out inside the Tropical Creole Restaurant along Fowler Street and Hunter Terrace Thursday afternoon.
Fox 4 obtained cell phone video taken shortly after the shooting. In the video, a man is seen walking with his hand wrapped, as a second man screams for help.
The family of the man in the video, told Fox 4 they believe he was acting in self defense. The family did not want to be identified, but told Fox 4 they were alerted to the shooting after seeing a video of the aftermath on Facebook.
The identities of the individuals involved in the shooting have not been released. Fort Myers Police told Fox 4, two men were treated at the scene for non-life threatening gun shot wounds, and a third shooter with non-life threatening gun shot wounds was taken to the hospital by an unidentified person.
"That happened for the second time, first time same place, same restaurant," said Pastor Altchence Alteme.
Pastor Alteme, told Fox 4 he was heading over to open his church doors when he stumbled on the crime scene.
"We can not accept that, "said Pastor Altchence Alteme.
Authorities say the three men involved in Thursday afternoon's shooting are expected to be okay, but what led up to the shoot out remains a mystery.
"We don't know at this point if all the party's that were injured were involved or if their were other people involved as well," said Capt. Jim Mulligan, Fort Myers Police.
Two witnesses gave Fox 4 a picture they snapped of a silver cadillac they say they saw one of the shooters take off in.
"A mom and her child could be coming out here to shop and become collateral damage, "said Larry Aguilar, a concerned resident.
The shooting marked the second time in six months, gun fire erupted at this busy restaurant.
It's a disturbing reoccurance and people living in the area say enough is enough.
"There's no reason for us to stand for it," said Aguilar. "We have to do something about it."
