Burglaries of unlocked cars reported in Port Charlotte

PORT CHARLOTTE, Fla. -- The Charlotte County Sheriff's Office is once again reminding residents to protect themselves from car burglaries.

Six car burglaries of unlocked cars were reported to Charlotte County deputies over the weekend.

The burglaries happened on Bauers Avenue and LaPlaya Avenue in Port Charlotte.

Similar burglaries have been taking place in the area over recent months. Authorities across Southwest Florida warn everyone to lock your unattended cars and remove all of your valuables.
