NAPLES, Fla. -- School officials have ordered a precautionary evacuation of Lely Elementary after nearby brush fires have spread smoke through the area.

A large brush fire broke out just east of Collier Boulevard on Monday and continued overnight, causing a heavy smoke advisory to be issued in Collier County.

Tuesday morning, students and staff at Lely Elementary, which sits just west of Collier Boulevard and south of Rattlesnake Hammock Road, were being moved to Calusa Park Elementary on Santa Barbara Avenue.

All students are safe and secure.

Lely Elementary parents can pick up their children now if they are able to do so. If parents cannot pick up their child, they will return home on normal bus routes later Tuesday.
