LEE COUNTY, Fla. -- A Bonita Springs man is dead after driving his car into a canal earlier this week.
The crash happened Monday morning on Pennsylvania Avenue near Tennessee Street. The Lee County Sheriff's Office says 64-year-old Duane Williams was driving on Pennsylvania Avenue when he missed a curve in the road. His car knocked down several trees before landing upside down in Oak Creek.
He was pulled from the car by first responders and taken to North Naples Hospital, where he died from his injuries Thursday.
