COLLIER COUNTY, Fla. -- A bicyclist is dead after a crash Tuesday in the Golden Gates Estates area of Collier County.
It happened just after 6:30pm on Everglades Boulevard North near 48th Avenue Northeast.
Florida Highway Patrol says a driver of a mini van rear ended a northbound bicyclist on Everglades Boulevard. The impact sent the bicyclist, 52-year-old Roy Mills of Naples, into the windshield of the mini van.
Mills was transported to Lee Memorial, where he was pronounced dead.
The driver of the car originally left the scene but returned a short time later.
No word on any charges the driver may be facing.
