LEHIGH ACRES, Fla. -- Investigators are looking for a man who reportedly injured and robbed a man at a bank ATM Tuesday morning.
It happened at the Suncoast Credit Union on Beth Stacey Boulevard, just off Homestead Road North in Lehigh Acres.
The victim tells Fox 4 that he was using the side ATM when the suspect approached from behind and struck him in the head with a pistol.
The suspect made off with about $100.
Numerous units responded and searched the area, but there is no word on any arrests.
Linda Fales, VP of Risk Management at the credit union, issued the following statement after the incident:
"Due to the nature of the crime, the matter is now in the proper hands of law enforcement. However, the safety of our members is our primary concern and we will not only cooperate with law enforcement, but we will also prosecute to the full extent of the law.”
