Police are investigating an armed robbery at a seafood restaurant in Naples.
The Naples Police Department received a call at around 10:35 p.m. Friday regarding the armed robbery at Swan River Seafood in the Parkshore Centre plaza on U.S. 41. Four victims reported that two male suspects wearing dark clothing and masks forced their way into the business as an employee was attempting to leave for the night. At least one of the suspects was armed with a handgun, according to a police report.
"I would never have imagined it would happen in this complex here," said Stefan Plante, manager at the USS Nemo restaurant next door to Swan River Seafood.
The suspects took over $6,000 in cash, both from employees as well as the restaurant's safe. Before leaving the business, the suspects forced the victims into a walk-in cooler, then fled the scene.
Detectives are currently investigating.
