'Active scene' forces closure of McGregor Boulevard

UPDATE -- Police have taken a person into custody after shutting down a section of McGregor Boulevard in Fort Myers. 

Police say the community is not in any danger, and the area should be cleared shortly. 


FORT MYERS, Fla. -- Authorities have shut down a section of McGregor Boulevard in Fort Myers due to an "active scene".

The section closed off is just south of Colonial Boulevard, in the area of Donna Drive.

Nearby Tanglewood Elementary was briefly placed on lockdown, but it has been lifted.

Fox 4 has a crew headed to the scene and will update as we know more.
