FORT MYERS, Fla. -- The man accused of shooting a Sanibel police officer will be back in a Lee County courtroom Tuesday.
Jon Hay was arraigned Monday. He is facing four counts of attempted first-degree murder on a law enforcement officer.
The state has filed a motion requiring Hay to provide a DNA sample Tuesday.
Investigators say on November 20th, Hay shot officer Jarred Ciccone in the shoulder while he was conducting a traffic stop on Perriwinkle Way. Shortly after, investigators say Hay started a shootout with police outside his parents home.
Officer Ciccone has since recovered.
