The clerk on duty at an East Naples 7-Eleven gave a chilling account of an armed robbery Thursday night when he called 911. He said a man came in around 11:00 p.m. with what the clerk described as a handgun wrapped in a paper bag.

"The man just put it to my head...made me walk up to the register," the clerk told the 911 dispatcher. "I gave him what was in it."

"Do you you know what direction he went out, on foot or in a vehicle?" the dispatcher asked.

"No I don't, he forced me to run in the back," the clerk replied. "Then I watched him on the camera leave the store, 'cause I was terrified. He told me he was going to blow my effin' head off multiple times."

Collier County Sheriff's Office deputies searched the area around the gas station and convenience store, located at the corner of Airport-Pulling Road and Estey Avenue, with K-9 units and a helicopter, but did not locate the suspect.

The suspect is described as a black male, 6'0" to 6'2", weighing about 190 pounds. He wore a gray sweatshirt with a maroon stripe on the shoulder, possibly with the words "Florida State" on the front. He also wore a blue wrap around his head and part of his face.

A spokeswoman with the Collier County Sheriff's Office told Fox 4 that deputies are increasing patrols in that area. Anyone with information that could lead to an arrest is asked to call 239-252-9300, or Crime Stoppers at 1-800-780-TIPS.
