An armed woman who pointed her firearm at a deputy was shot and killed, the Lee County Sheriff's Office said on Thursday.
Deputies responded to a call of complaint at approximately 5:15pm in the 400 block of Lazy Way in Fort Myers Beach.
When they arrived a female subject with a weapon was located.
After engaging with the woman, she pointed her firearm at a deputy and "in fear for his life" the deputy shot the woman, LCSO said.
She was pronounced dead.
This is an ongoing investigation.
