Arrest made in convenience store clerk's death

FORT MYERS, Fla.-  UPDATE: The Lee County Sheriff's office has arrested 24-year-old Christopher Darrell Harris in connection with the murder of 62-year-old Syed Abdul Ahad.

Detectives retrieved video surveillance from the Gulf Express and were able to determine a suspect description. 
 
Canvases were done in the surrounding areas and deputies located Harris at the Palm Beach Motel, located at 4719 Palm Beach Boulevard.
 
Harris has been charged with Homicide, Robbery with a Firearm, and Possession of a Weapon by a Convicted Felon.

Crime scene tape surrounds the Gulf Express Convenience Store in Fort Myers in what investigators are calling a homicide. 

Lee County deputies have been investigating since 2:30 a.m. after being called to the store located on Palm Beach Boulevard at Kingston Drive East. 

Arriving deputies found the store's clerk unresponsive and began life-saving efforts, which were unsuccessful.

A witness told our crew they heard gunshots, but deputies have not confirmed that.

Detectives say they feel that this was an isolated incident at the store and the surrounding community is not in any immediate danger.
