3 men sought in brutal Fort Myers park beating

FORT MYERS, Fla. -- Police are looking for two or three Hispanic males who brutally attacked the victim with a tire iron.

The beating took place at Schandler Park off Royal Palm Park Drive in Fort Myers around 2 AM, Thursday, July 14. 

The victims was sitting on a park bench when the suspects approached and demanded money. When he responded that he didn't have any cash on him, the men used a tire iron to beat the victim several times in the head and face, causing severe injuries. They include a fractured skull, orbital bone, nose and a ruptured eyeball, in addition to roughly 35 staples and stitches. 

After the beatings ceased, one of the suspects grabbed the victim's wallet and fled in an unknown direction. 

It took the victim nearly an hour to crawl to the exit of the park, where he finally collapsed at the intersection of Palm Beach Boulevard and Florence Circle.
