Over 100,000 blending containers sold at Costco and Williams-Sonoma recalled over laceration risk

Vitamix is recalling over 100,000 blending containers because they can separate, leaving the blades exposed.

The company says the Ascent and Venturist series of 8-ounce and 20-ounce containers can separate from the blade's base and pose a risk to users.

Vitamix says they've received 11 reports of customers cutting their hands on the exposed blades.

The containers were sold at Costco, Williams-Sonoma and online at Vitamix.com from April 2017 through July 2018.

The date code can be found etched onto the top of the blade to see if yours is part of the recall. For example, for March the date code would show 03-18.

If you have one of the containers, stop using it immediately and contact Vitamix for a repair kit. They're already sending kits to registered owners.
