Thistle Lodge in Sanibel is in a historic building on Sanibel Resort. Thistle Lodge offers fine dining and casual atmospheres. Reservations are recommended. For First Bite, Chef John Wolff will feature a zesty orange glazed half capon.
The bird is braised and cooks in a little butter, garlic and thyme before it's finished off with the glaze. Rice pilaf serves as the base for the dish. Baby carrots and pearl onions top it off. The capon is not available on the regular menu, however Chef Wolff says it's "A great opportunity for us to try new items."
