The 7th annual "Ding" Darling and Dock Ford's Tarpon Tournament begins Friday, May 11th as a catch, care and release tournament.

It celebrates the history of the first documented tarpon caught on a rod-and-reel in "Ding" Darling's Tarpon Bay in 1885.

Registration for the tournament is $500 per team and 100% of that goes back to the anglers as cash rewards. All fishing must be done from a boat and fish caught and counted must be adult tarpon, about 45 to 50 pounds or more. The fish must be released alive to be counted. A maximum of 6 lines are allowed in the water at one time per boat.

For questions about the tournament, you can call the Society Office at (239)-472-1100 ext. 4 or click here.
