LEE COUNTY, Fla. — For the third year in a row, Lee Health’s Golisano Children’s Hospital of Southwest Florida has been named a “Top Children’s Hospital” by The Leapfrog Group.
Golisano's is one of only three Florida hospitals to earn this commendation. Only 13 hospitals nationwide received the Top Children's Hospital status.
Qualifications for the award include inpatient care management, medication safety, and infections and injuries.
Three Lee Health hospitals earned the highest possible grade on Leapfrog’s Fall 2018 Hospital Safety Grades report card last month. Those hospitals are Gulf Coast Medical Center, Cape Coral Hospital and Lee Memorial Hospital.
HealthPark Medical Center missed the top mark by just .03 points.
Selection is based on the results of the this years Leapfrog Hospital Survey. The LeapFrog Group is an organization that tracks and analyzes standards at medical facilities nationwide.
