LEE COUNTY, Fla. -- Within Fort Myers, there are four churches with over one hundred years of service to the community.

Dating back to 1889, Trinity United Methodist Church is the oldest established black congregation in the area. Then Mount Olive African Methodist Episcopal Church formed in 1895, followed by Saint John First Missionary Baptist Church in
1898 and Friendship Missionary Baptist Church in 1912.

All four of these congregations continue to carry on their lasting legacies within Fort Myers.
