LEE COUNTY, Fla. -- Christmas is almost here, and since it falls right in the middle of the week, it will be impacting your trash schedule.

All garbage, recycling and yard waste collections in Lee, Collier, and Charlotte counties will take place one day later than scheduled.

This means if your regular trash day is Wednesday, you can expect it to be picked up on Thursday, and so on through the week.

And when it's time to get rid of your Christmas tree, take off all the decorations and lights before putting it out on the curb. It will be processed into mulch or compost.

Wrapping paper, except metallic, is recyclable, and so are cardboard boxes. Plastic ribbons and bows are not recyclable.

The holidays will also impact LeeTran bus services. You will still be able to get a ride on Christmas Eve, but not on Christmas Day.

Services will start back up on December 26th. For route information, head to RideLeeTran.com.
