Man claims $2 million Powerball prize in Venice

VENICE, Fla. — Javier Diaz, 45, of Venice, claimed a $2 million prize from to drawing held on May 25, 2019. The winning ticket matched all five of the white ball numbers but did not match the Powerball.

Diaz purchased the quick pick ticket from Winn-Dixie, located at 1254 Jacaranda Boulevard in Venice. The retailer will receive a $5,000 bonus commission for selling the winning Powerball ticket.

The next Powerball drawing will be held Saturday, June 1, at 10:59 p.m. with an estimated $350 million jackpot.
