Homestead woman wins $1 million off scratch-off lottery ticket

HOMESTEAD, Fla. — Congratulations to Beatriz Travieso, 70, of Homestead. The Florida Lottery announced that she claimed the first $1 million top prize from the new 50X Scratch-Off game at Florida Lottery Headquarters in Tallahassee. Travieso chose to receive her winnings as a one-time, lump-sum payment of $805,000.00.

The winning ticket was purchased from Publix, located at 2950 Northeast 8th Street in Homestead. Publix receives a $2,000 bonus commission for selling the winning 50X Scratch-Off ticket.

The $5 50X Scratch-Off game features 12 top prizes of $1,000,000 and gives players the opportunity to multiply the prize shown by up to 50 times. The game's overall odds of winning are one-in-4.19.
