TALLAHASSEE, Fla. — Lauryn Brown excelled academically, graduating from Godby High School at fifteen years old.
Although her sights were set on a career in health care, her path to success wasn’t guaranteed.
“I definitely knew that I was going to go to college,” Lauryn says. “It was just a matter of when and how I was going to pay for it.”
A guidance counselor pointed her toward the Florida Bright Futures Scholarship Program.
With a lot of hard work and late-night study sessions, Lauryn was awarded the scholarship and enrolled at Florida State University at just 16 years old.
Her goal of a career in medicine, “to change the way people go about their lives,” was coming into focus.
Lauryn recently graduated from Florida State University (and is a Tally native) and will be attending Georgia State University in the Fall with 100% tuition waiver to pursue her Masters Degree.
