NAPLES, Fla. — The Collier County Sheriff's Office confirms one person is dead after a fire early Wednesday afternoon at the Blue Heron Condo Complex on Great Heron Way in Naples.
Collier County Sheriff’s Office Crime Scene Unit and the Greater Naples Fire department were on scene for multiple hours investigating.
Fox 4 spoke with neighbors who weren’t expecting something like this to happen there. They said they noticed what was going on when the power went out.
“I started hearing the fire alarm and then I walked over to the mailbox and I noticed and starting smelling the smoke," said Tim Hale.
He says his heart goes out to everyone involved.
Collier county investigators are still working to figure out what started the fire. They say this is an active investigation.
