The 61st annual Grammy Awards were a star studded affair, and at least one celebrity wanted to make a political statement on the red carpet.

Singer Joy Villa donned a "Build the Wall" dress that had social media buzzing — both with positive and negative feedback. The gown had a shiny silver outer shell with a white gown underneath, which she revealed on the red carpet. The white dress had a black outline of bricks and the words "Build the Wall" written in bold red on the back of the skirt. The shoulders of the dress appeared to have concertina wire attached to them. She was also carrying a bright red purse emblazoned with "Make America Great Again."

I assure no one will want to come here after checking out those visions.

The singer took to Twitter to respond to the comments, saying "I don't care what anyone thinks."

The dress earned approval from conservative commentator Ann Coulter.

This isn't the first time the singer and songwriter has ruffled a few feathers with her dresses. Villa, a supporter of U.S. President Donald Trump, is fairly well-known for her out-of-the-box takes on fashion. She wore a "Make America Great Again" gown to the Grammys in 2017.
