Men seen burglarizing cars on FGCU campus

FORT MYERS, Fla. -- Caught on camera: two men are spotted on the Florida Gulf Coast University campus, going car to car, checking to see if they are unlocked and then taking stuff from inside them.

FGCU police sent out these pictures of the two who they say were car hopping on Tuesday afternoon.

It happened on the 2nd floor of Garage B in the South Village, and the suspects were in the garage for almost two hours.

If stuff from your car was taken or you recognize the people in these pictures, call University Police at 590-1900, or you can make an anonymous tip through the Silent Witness Program at 590-1906. 

Some general safety suggestions from FGCU Police:

* Make sure to secure your vehicle

* Use your car alarm if you have one.

* Report activated car alarms immediately to UPD at 590-1900

* Report suspicious activity or persons immediately to UPD.

* Report crimes immediately to 590-1900

* Remember you can use other emergency notification systems to contact police such as the Code Blue poles and boxes around campus and on every floor of every garage.

* University Police are always here, even when the University is closed.
