PORT CHARLOTTE, Fla. -- An senior citizen driver was trauma alerted from the scene of a serious accident in Port Charlotte Tuesday morning.
The crash happened shortly after 10 a.m. on South McCall Road at the intersection with David Boulevard.
According to Charlotte County Fire & EMS, multiple units responded to the scene, where an SUV and a dump truck collided.
The SUV's driver was critically injured and flown to Lee Memorial Hospital for treatment.
The truck's driver was driven to a local hospital in stable condition.
Crews on the scene were cleaning up a diesel fuel spill and what appears to be spillage from the truck's cargo.
