Dog killed in Cape Coral bee swarm

UPDATE --  The Cape Coral Police Department confirmed that the bees did attack and kill a dog in the neighborhood.

Police say the owner of the dog was stung multiple times, but she was treated at the scene. 

A Cape Coral Firefighter who is also a bee keeper removed the problem hive.

 

CAPE CORAL, Fla. -- Residents of one Cape Coral neighborhood are urged to stay inside due to a bee swarm in the area.

According to Cape Coral Police, the bees are in the 1400 block of SW 53rd Terrace.

Police, fire and EMS crews, as well as a bee removal service, are all on the scene.

Residents in the area are urged to bring animals inside, close doors and windows, and limit time outside through 3:00 PM.
