NORTH NAPLES, Fla.-  The bomb squad was at the Shoppes of Pebblebrooke in North Naples, Tuesday, after an attempted robber who claimed to be with ISIS threatened to blow up a bank with a bomb.

The attempted bank robber went into the BB&T bank at the corner of Collier Boulevard and Immokalee Road and demanded money, before telling a bank employee that he was a member of ISIS and that he planted a bomb in the bank.

"The subject came into the bank and advised he was with ISIS and wanted $100,000 and had planted a bomb somewhere around the bank," said Lt JJ Carroll. "We tried to take the subject into custody, he did flee for a second, we had the road shut down and we were able to take him into custody."

The attempted robber fled the scene and was apprehended by police across the street near a CVS on Immokalee Road.

Collier Boulevard was completely shut down as officials searched the suspect's car, which was parked in the CVS parking lot.

The identity of the suspect has not yet been released.
