Teen charged in Lehigh Acres brush fire

A 15-year-old is charged with setting a brush fire which burned a home and a shed in Lehigh Acres.

Investigators say the teen was playing with a lighter.  

The fire started near Ravenwood Street, but it's under control now.

A second brush fire forced the closure of State Route 82, but it was brought under control quickly.

It is our policy not to identify minors charged with crimes, unless they are charged as an adult.

Estella Resentiz lives in the neighborhood where the fire burned.  
 
She worried her home was in danger, but her house survied.
 
She says, "There were ashes flying everywhere you couldn't hardly breathe. The fire was so intense and hot."
 
The fire burned more than 20 acres.
 
Coming so close to her house, she and her family only had seconds to leave their home.
 
The fire destroyed a home and a shed.
 
No one was hurt.
