NAPLES, Fla. -- The Naples Zoo has sustained significant damage throughout the entire property as a result of Hurricane Irma, and will remain closed until further notice.

They will continue to post photos on their Facebook page as the week progresses.

With the exception of our two greater kudu, all of their animals survived the storm. There is extensive exhibit damage throughout the zoo and many animals are unable to go back on exhibit without significant repairs. The botanicals throughout the property have also suffered extensive damage.

Staff and volunteers are on site working to repair damage and continue to give the best possible care to the animals.

The Zoo is still without power, but they do have water on site for the animals.

We are also thankful to the Davey Tree staff members that have come on site to assist with removing major debris.

Many members of the community have asked how they can help and we appreciate all of the support. Donations can be made directly on their Facebook page, or on their website
