UPDATE WEDNESDAY 10/9/19
Still monitoring a few areas in the Atlantic, two off the east coast of the U.S. and another well into the Atlantic. Neither of these systems will impact southwest Florida, but the two off the Florida east coast could bring heavy surf and gusty winds to New England later this week.

UPDATE MONDAY 10/7/19
Since Lorenzo, the tropics have been quiet in the past few days. There are indications though that that may change this week as we are watching two areas of interest in the western Atlantioc. Neither of these will have impacts on the U.S. but are worth mentioning. The first is an area of possible development from thunderstorms southwest of Bermuda associated with low pressure that hasn't acquired tropical characterstics yet. There is a chance this area could transition to subtropical in the next few days as it tracks north.
A second area is well east of Bermuda in the middle of the Atlantic and has a better chance of developing into something of significance. NHC gives this area a medium chance for development in 5 days as it moves west. Melissa and Nestor are the next two names on the list. We'll keep you updated on any developments but again, neither of these systems will have impacts on our weather.
