**UPDATE** -- Collier Boulevard has fully reopened in Naples, but smoke remains in the area.  Use caution while driving today.

-----------------------------------------------------------

A section of a major Collier County artery is closed Tuesday due to the massive fire burning nearby.

Collier Boulevard between Davis/Beck Boulevard and Rattlesnake Hammock Road is closed and drivers are urged to seek alternate routes.  This is the same section of road that was closed Monday because of the encroaching smoke and flames.

The road briefly re-opened early Tuesday morning.  It's not clear when the road is expected to re-open again.

You can monitor live traffic conditions on the Fox 4 Traffic Page.

Serenity Walk Park, which is located along Collier Boulevard, is also closed until further notice.

The fire in the Picayune Strand forest is now 4000 acres and is 40 percent contained.  Strong winds and low humidity could make it difficult for fire crews to keep the fire from spreading.

The Collier County Bureau of Emergency Services has opened the Emergency Information Hotline: (239) 252-8444 or 311 (Collier County only).
