Fire crews from several areas are working to contain a massive fire burning in Charlotte County.

The fire started just before 2 p.m. near Oil Well Rd. and Circle Drive.  It's not far from the Sun and Shade Mobile Home Park.

Fire crews say the 302 acre fire is 95 percent contained at this time.

Smoke from the fire can be seen for miles.  Fire crews from multiple agencies are staging at the Charlotte County Emergency Operation Center as they work to keep the fire from spreading. Several structures in the area were being threatened and one small structure was destroyed. Evacuations were ordered in the homes on Bass Road, Valhalla Road, Catfish and North and South Jack roads. Those evacuations have been lifted, except for North and South Jack Road.

Fox 4 has a crew on scene working to gather more information.
