A camera caught an Eagle's startled reaction when a 5.3 earthquake rattled Southern California Thursday.

The quake shook the Raptor's nest, which is in a tree on Santa Cruz Island. The eagle flew away when the rattling started, leaving three chicks behind.
Both parent eagles were raised at the San Francisco Zoo and released into the wild in 2005 and 2006.

No damage was reported from the quake. As for the chicks, the concerned parent returned to the nest shortly after flying the coop.
