Myth Busting Birth Control and Women’s Health

Women have more options than ever when it comes to one of the most important aspects of their lives: reproductive health and family planning. There have been many advances in women’s health in the past 60 years, from the creation of the first oral contraceptive, to increased prevalence of long-acting, reversible contraception (LARC), like IUDs.

However, a new survey shows that many women don’t know all the different birth control methods that are available to them. In fact, 38% of women are only aware of five or fewer birth control methods of the existing 18 approved by the FDA. How can women make the best decisions for their health when they aren’t armed with knowledge about all the options?
