SANIBEL, Fla. — The Bailey-Matthews National Shell Museum has reopened to the public with new safety guidelines.

They say the museum is now open daily at 50% capacity and requires all guests wear masks to explore inside.

A one-way path takes you through several new exhibits added this year, like the mollusk touch pools.

The first floor of the museum gives visitors a new up-close experience with several mollusks and creatures of the sea.

"People ask so many questions because these mollusks are not animals you typically see out in nature. People want to know the basics like how do they eat, how do they live, and how do they breathe? It’s just fun answering peoples questions and seeing them enthusiastic about it too," said Leigh Gay, Education Coordinator.

For people planning to visit, the museum isn't taking cash or checks due to safety.
