ESTERO, Fla. -- A 5K Run and Fun Walk this Saturday will benefit Christy's Cause, a local non-profit working to eradicate child sex trafficking through education, public awareness, restoration projects, and justice initiatives.

“Less than 1% of all sex trafficking victims are ever identified,” said Christy Ivie, founder of Christy’s Cause. “Human Trafficking ties second as the largest global enterprise with Florida ranking third in the nation for reported cases. We are fighting to make a difference in the lives of those who desperately need our help.”

The run will take place on Saturday morning at Living Waters Church, located at 22100 S. Tamiami Trail in Estero.

The event will include a professionally-timed 5K Run and non-timed Walk. The run will begin at 7:00 a.m. and the walk will begin at 8:45 a.m. The fee to participate is $30.00 per person plus a $3.00 signup fee. A $5.00 discount will apply to a second participant.

Placement awards will be given to the top male, female, 55+male, and 55+female runners. Walkers will have a chance to win giveaways from local businesses. Registrants will receive a drawstring bag that include a quality race t-shirt, bib, timing tag for runners and an event map.
