Three men investigated for club shooting bond out of jail

FORT MYERS, Fla. (UPDATE) -- All three of the men detained as person of interest in the deadly shooting Sunday night at Club Blu have bonded out of jail. 

Tuesday afternoon,  22-year-old Tajze Battle posted his $3,500 bond. Early Wednesday morning, 19-year-old Demetrius O'Neal posted his $5,000 bond. Wednesday afternoon, the third person of interest, 19-year-old Derrick Church posted his $50,000 bond. 


FORT MYERS, Fla. -- Two of the three men detained in connection to the Fort Myers club shooting have bonded out of jail.

The men were held on charges related to a police chase and are persons of interest in the club shooting. They have not been charged in the shooting. 

19-year-old Demetrius O'Neal bonded posted a $5,000 bond early Wednesday morning. Several hours earlier on Tuesday afternoon, 22-year-old Tajze Battle posted his $3,500 bond. 

19-year old Derrick Church is still behind bars. He's facing more serious charges of assault on an officer and resisting an officer. 

Shortly after the mass shooting, law enforcement got into a chase with a suspicious vehicle.  The deputy stopped the car near Luckett Road and Ortiz Avenue, where deputies say the driver, believed to be Church, attempted to hit the deputy. The deputy then fired shots, hitting Church.

The two other occupants in the car, believed to be O'Neal and Battle, fled on foot. 

As for the club shooting, the investigation is still very active. That shooting killed 14-year-old Sean Archilles and 18-year-old Stef'an Strawder.

 

More than a dozen people were also injured in the shooting . Most of the people have already been released from the hospital, but at last check three people remain hospitalized. Two are in critical condition, and one is in fair condition.
