COLLIER COUNTY, Fla. -- The recent bloom of red tide in Southwest Florida has forced the postponement of a sand sculpting competition in Naples on Wednesday.
The 6th Annual Castles for Kids Sand Sculpting Competition presented by The Golisano Children's Museum of Naples was scheduled to start at 8:30 a.m. Wednesday, but will now have to be rescheduled.
Organizers are hoping to hold the event in late August or September.
It will take place at LaPlaya Beach and Golf Resort.
