CHARLOTTE COUNTY, Fla. -- If you're using your credit card at a gas station in Charlotte County, deputies are warning you to be careful. Skimmers were found at several gas pumps.
The Department of Agriculture found the illegal devices at the Pik 'N Run on Tamiami Trail, the Marathon on Tamiami Trail in Port Charlotte, and the Marathon on Jones Loop Road in Punta Gorda.
Credit card skimmers are popping up more and more often.
Last year, Governor Rick Scott signed a measure into law requiring security devices on gas pumps to prevent illegal skimmers.
