TWINSBURG, Ohio. – An Ohio man was recently inundated with about 55,000 copies of the same letter from a student loan company.

College Avenue Student Loans has claimed responsibility for the mistake, blaming a computer glitch.

Dan Cain of Twinsburg told WOIO that he knew there was a problem as soon as the clerk at his post office told him that he had too much mail to walk through the front door with.

So, Cain drove around to the back and that’s when he saw postal workers wheel out two massive carts filled with trays of mail.

“At first we're shocked,” Cain told WOIO. “We were like, ‘are you kidding me? Who makes that kind of mistake?’”

Cain counted 79 trays of letters with about 700 letters in each tray. That’s 55,000 letters, give or take – all of them exactly the same.

In a statement obtained by WOIO, the college loan company said the mistake with the letter regarding Cain’s daughter’s student loan was due to a glitch in their system and representatives apologized.

Now, Cain is floating around ideas for how to get rid of the pile of letters.

"I may just start a fire a bonfire and burn it all," said Cain.
