The Fresh Express is issuing a recall on some of its salads due to cyclospora risk.

The company issued a recall on salads that are marked with the letter Z at the beginning of the Product Code, which is located in the upper right-hand corner of the front of the package. Salads containing the ingredients iceberg lettuce, red cabbage and/or carrots and displaying the Product Code Z178, or a lower number, are recalled, the company said.

The recalled salads were distributed to select retail stores between June 6 and June 26 in various states.

The Fresh Express said it issued the recall out of an abundance of caution after the Center for Disease Control and Prevention (CDC) reported more than 200 illnesses linked to cyclospora.

Cyclosporiasis is an intestinal infection caused by the cyclospora parasite. Common symptoms severe abdominal pain, diarrhea, nausea and vomiting, body aches and fatigue, according to Fresh Express' press release.
