CAPE CORAL, Fla -- A new ranking of the cheapest cities seeing new mover booms puts two Southwest Florida cities right at the top!

Cape Coral and Fort Myers are ranked number one on the list from 24/7 Wall St.

The area saw an even bigger boom this year with the pandemic, and many looking to relocate because of the economy.

The ranking takes factors like cost of living, housing affordability, and population growth into consideration.

Keep in mind, the pandemic was not the only factor contributing to this trend, but it certainly contributed.

Researchers determined the Cape Coral-Fort Myers area is the number one inexpensive city Americans are looking to move to. More than 75% of people searching for homes there are from outside the area.

The top areas potential movers are searching from are Miami, Port St. Lucie, and Fort Lauderdale.
