COLLIER COUNTY, Fla. -- A house fire killed two family dogs and left a family of four homeless early Monday morning.

It happened around 2 a.m. on Lee Williams Road.  That's in a small residential section within Picayune Strand State Forest, located south of Alligator Alley in eastern Collier County.

No other injuries were reported, and the Greater Naples Fire says the home is a total loss.

They say a total of six dogs were living in the home; four survived, two died.

The Red Cross is assisting the family right now.

The cause of the fire is not yet determined.
