Traffic stop leads to marijuana arrests

Cape Coral Police say a traffic stop for speeding led to the discovery of nearly one pound of marijuana.

It happened on December 11 on Veterans Parkway near Del Prado Boulevard. An officer spotted a gray Hyundai going 80 mph in a 50 mph zone. When they stopped that car they found Leo Sanchez his passenger Lane Foshee, II.

A K-9 alerted officers to the presence of drugs in the vehicle. Officers then found two large vacuum-sealed bags of marijuana, one containing 111.8 grams and the other containing 335.1 grams.

Both men, 19-year-old Leo Sanchez of Fort Myers and 20-year-old Lane Foshee, II of Cape Coral, were arrested on charges of possession of marijuana over 20 grams.
