LEHIGH ACRES, Fla. — The Southwest Florida Crime Stoppers is asking for the public's help for information that could help solve the murder of a Lehigh Acres mother of four.

Trenesa Roberts, 39, was killed after leaving her home for work as a school bus driver.

An unknown assailant shot and killed her around 6:30 a.m. on December 10, 2018, in the 2000 block of Quentin Avenue South.

The family and Lee County Sheriffs now believe this may have been a targeted incident.

“We strongly believe at this point that it was somebody that she knew, that may have betrayed her trust and took advantage of it, ” said Trish Routte, Crime Stoppers Coordinator.

Limited information has been shared with investigators, and now Crime Stoppers asks for the public's help.

"Trenesa was a beloved sister, daughter, niece, granddaughter, and, most importantly, mother," said Routte.

Her family has been struggling to try to wrap their heads around why someone would do this to her.

They continue to visit her gravesite every week and hope that one day very soon, they will be able to see justice served so that Trenesa can finally rest in peace.

“We need the community to stand up, do this for the sake of our community and the safety of our community, do this for a mom that deserves justice. No one should ever have to suffer the fate that she did, ” said Routte.

Anyone with information on the murder of Trenesa Roberts is asked to call Crime Stoppers at 1-800-780-TIPS (8477).
