CAPE CORAL, Fla. -- Police have charged two Southwest Florida residents after several tips connected them to a lawn trailer theft investigation in Cape Coral.

47-year-old Luanne Elizabeth-Hutt of Fort Myers is charged with Grand Theft and Probation Violation, and 45-year-old Nicholas Trigleth of Cape Coral is charged with Grand Theft, Failure to Appear, and Possession of Drug Paraphernalia.

According to Cape Coral Police, an investigation began March 28th at a home in the 200 block of NE 20th Terrace. That's where a homeowner saw two people wheeling away a lawn trailer from their driveway and chased them away before they could attach it to their truck.

Surveillance video of the incident was shared online and in the media, resulting in tips from several sources.
