Three men arrest and charged with construction site theft in Charlotte County

PORT CHARLOTTE, Fla. — Witnesses led police to a construction site theft on June 7th. The witnesses told police they observed 3 men loading bags of cement into a white box truck.

Witnesses say they were moving extremely quick as though they did not want to get caught.

When they saw him looking, they got into the box truck and fled the scene at a high rate of speed.

The witness followed the truck trying to get the tag and dialed 911.

The white box truck was located by road patrol shortly after.

Police approached the box truck; they were able to see inside the box truck due to a large hole in the box truck rear door. He observed several bags of cement in the back of the truck.

Based on the totality of the circumstances, evidence obtained, sworn recorded statements, the suspects entering a posted construction site to commit a theft, the witness observing the theft and followed the truck until law enforcement was present, and the stolen property being in the rear of the box truck.

De Oliveira e Silva, Elessandro, 31, Assis, Udson 37, and De Souza, Jose Dis Fernandes, 50, were all arrested and charged for Trespassing on a Posted Construction Site and Grand Theft from a Posted Construction Site.
